Vice President Biden spent some time earlier today at Georgetown University Law Center, where he spoke about why it’s so vitally important that Chief Judge Merrick Garland’s nomination gets the consideration our Constitution affords.
In his remarks, he stressed that most Americans go to work every day understanding that they've got to do their jobs -- and that the United States Senate should have to do its job, as well. He also stressed that, during his time as the ranking Democrat or as Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, he was responsible for eight Justices and nine total nominees to the Supreme Court -- and every nominee was greeted by committee members, got a committee hearing, and got an up or down vote by the Senate.
